Directions to Stone Harbor, New Jersey
Note: Plan to arrive in Stone Harbor
on Saturday, June 23 BEFORE 9:00 AM.
There is a traffic jam each Saturday from
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM that
will double your travel time.
From
Delaware Memorial Bridge:
After crossing the bridge, stay
in the two left lanes to be on the side of the fork that leads
to Atlantic City and Rt. 40. The exit for Atlantic City is
before the entrance to the N.J. turnpike and is on the right.
After exiting, Follow Rt. 40 East.
Watch for a left turn after about 10 miles at a big intersection
with a WAWA. Follow Rt. 40 through several little towns -
there is a traffic circle that may throw you off if you're
not following the Rt. 40 signs carefully!
A few miles after you pass through the town of Elmer you will
come to the entrance ramp for Rt. 55 South (on your right
hand side).
Get on Rt. 55 South and follow it to its end, where it merges
with Rt. 47 South. Rt. 47 becomes Rt. 347 for 10 miles or
so, then goes back to being plain old Rt. 47, at which point
you are close to the beach towns.
After you pass the sign for Avalon and Rt. 83, the next left
turn (it is more of a fork than a 90 degree turn) is for Stone
Harbor and Cape May.
There is a traffic light there and a pizza joint at the intersection.
I'd like to say you can't miss it, but people have, actually.
Once on this road you are home free, for it eventually goes
right into Stone Harbor.
You will go through some woods first, then pass two shopping
centers (one on each side of the road), then pass through
the intersection with Rt. 9, then cross over the Garden State
Parkway. You need to be in the right lane after you cross
Rt. 9 in order to stay straight on this road when it intersects
with the Parkway.
At this point the road is called Stone Harbor Blvd. and it
takes you right into the town on 96th Street. Turn left at
the second traffic light in Stone Harbor onto Second Ave.;
go 6 blocks to 90th Street and turn right.
Festival House: #118 on the left about 2/3rds
down the block.
Phone number: 609-368-1008.
