is distinguished by the individual and connected artistry
of Joan Sparks and Anne Sullivan.
Joan Sparks
earned her Master of music degree at Temple University
and was recognized with the Master Teacher Certification
from the Music Teachers National Association. She studied
with Murray Panitz, the distinguished former Principal
Flutist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Metropolitan
Opera’s Principal Flute, Trudy Kane. She has appeared
with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Bethlehem Bach Festival
Orchestra, and the Delaware Symphony. She lives in Wilmington
with her husband, two children and three Labrador retrievers,
and is a dedicated member of United States Masters Swimming.
Anne’s
virtuosity was recognized at the age of twelve when she
appeared twice as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
She received her Bachelors of Music degree from the renowned
Curtis Institute of Music, where she taught music theory
and solfege for many years. While still a student at Curtis,
she won the Hobin Harp Competition. Currently, Anne is
listed in “Who’s Who of Rising Young Americans,”,
and “2000 Notable American Women”. Anne has
performed with all of the major Philadelphia music organizations,
including 1807 and Friends, the Pennsylvania Ballet Orchestra,
and the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra. She lives in Coburn,
PA with her husband and son.
