SPARX Flute and Harp Duo >> In Residence at the Tatnall School

In Residence at the Tatnall School

Nestled in the rolling hills of beautiful Greenville, Delaware. A perfect setting where Sparx serves as "Artist in Residence". The school is an independent, co-educational school located north of Wilmington, Delaware. The campus is on one-hundred acres of rollong countryside.

The Tatnall School has hosted the SPARX residency since 1996, when the prestigious Chamber Music America Ensemble Residency Grant was awarded to the duo.
The residency allows SPARX to pursue a cherished mission: to inspire young people to become life-long listeners of concert music. SPARX performs for several all-school functions such as May Day and Founder’s Day. They accompany the Lower School Holiday Concert and the Pre School Tree Trim. Several times a year, the duo performs for Lower School Opening Exercises. The Middle School employs SPARX to collaborate in poetry readings, story telling, and the annual 6th Grade Naming Ceremony. Frequent classroom visitors, SPARX has assisted Upper School Math Department chair, Martha Lowther in her Math and Music unit. SPARX can be heard weekly in the Lower School building as they rehearse for concerts in the school and the community at large. Tatnall is the site for the popular SPARX Candlelight Cabaret Series, and the school’s new performing arts center will be the new home of the SPARX chamber music series in 2008.

Each summer, SPARX presents a summer chamber music festival.

The Tatnall School is located on 600 acres of rolling farmland in northern New Castle County in the state of Delaware. Students from pre-school age through high school attend.
